About Artist

Hi, I’m Saniya , a full-time abstract artist based in California.

I’ve been painting for as long as I can remember. Long before it became my work, it was always my way of making sense of things. I went on to build a career in tech after completing my Master’s in Computer Science, and spent nearly a decade working in that world. It was stable, structured, and everything I was supposed to do , but it never felt like the full picture.

During the stillness of the pandemic, I gave myself the space to really listen. And what came back was simple , I wanted to create, fully and honestly. So I made the decision to step away from that life and build one around art.

Today, my practice is centered around bold, heavily textured abstract paintings, created using palette knives and layered mediums. Each piece is built slowly, with intention ,not just to be seen, but to be felt. The textures, the movement, the color… they’re all meant to create a quiet presence in a space.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to exhibit my work across the United States, including shows like the Superfine Art Fair in San Francisco (which I’ve been part of for the past four years), as well as Art San Diego, Seattle Art Fair, LA Art Show, and San Francisco Art Fair, along with numerous art fairs across the U.S. I’ll also be exhibiting at the Hamptons Fine Art Fair in July 2026.

Alongside exhibitions, I’ve worked on many commissioned pieces, creating artwork that becomes part of someone’s home ,something they live with, not just look at.

I truly believe we’re living in a time where we’re constantly overwhelmed ,by noise, by pressure, by everything moving too fast. We’re surrounded by anxiety, overstimulation, and a kind of constant motion that doesn’t always give us space to breathe.

My work is my response to that.

I want my paintings to feel like a visual exhale.

Something that softens a room without trying too hard.

Something that feels like a quiet smile waiting for you when you walk in.

Because at the end of the day, life is already complicated enough. There’s so much happening in and around us, all the time.

Through my work, I’m simply trying to bring things back to something softer. Simpler. More joyful.

And I mean this sincerely , I love what I do, and I love being able to share it with you.
